Empowering Balochistan’s Youth through Technical Education and Innovation

Quetta, May 14, 2025- At a ceremony organised by WORDS Pakistan at NUST Balochistan Campus, Quetta, Member of the Balochistan Assembly Kalsoom Niaz Baloch underscored the urgent need for technical education to address unemployment and unlock the province’s potential. She noted that transformative projects like CPEC and Reko Diq can only benefit Balochistan if its youth are equipped with relevant skills.
She highlighted the recent establishment of a public library and a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre in Jaffarabad as crucial steps towards educational and economic empowerment.
Dr Mughees Aslam, Dean of NUST Balochistan Campus, described the initiative as a milestone in strengthening community infrastructure. Representatives from PPAF reaffirmed their commitment to promoting inclusive, skills-based education across underserved communities, with a focus on women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
Dr Muhammad Hayat Jamali, CEO of WORDS Pakistan, said the new centres would provide modern, certified training in high-demand fields such as IT, e-commerce, smart agriculture, and fashion design—alongside support for local entrepreneurship.
Female students also shared success stories, demonstrating the transformative power of education and vocational training.
